You can be a contestant…If you are a full-time resident of a city in Hampton Roads, full-time student, and if you’re between the ages of 6 and 15 by 11:59 PM EST on March 29 of 2024.
As a contestant, you will be scored by a Selection Committee in three equally weighted categories, consisting of
3) Evening Gown
and you will participate in two exciting stage shows.
Our program is designed to be an excellent vehicle for advancing your career and personal goals in our young women in the Hampton Roads Area.
Our highly respected Selection Committee will often include experienced professionals from the pageant, modeling, and entertainment industries!

Must either (a) regarding “residency” and documentation requirements:
Must reside in the State as a full-time student or attend online full-time at a school
Must comply with all eligibility requirements as outlined in the Official Contestant Entry Form.
Must attend the informational session on March 4, 2024
Must attend at least 3 sessions of R.E.A.-D. Academy
PARENT/GUARDIAN of the contestant, as of March 4, 2024, you must provide photocopies of at least two (2) of the following types of documents, (a) and one of which must be of document type (b) through (e) as proof of residency in your state:
Throughout our pageant system, from the local level to the international level, delegates are judged in three areas:
Pageant judges spend time with each contestant to learn about her successes, talents, goals and ambitions. Attention is focused on her poise, charm, self-confidence and her ability to communicate, as well as the substance of her answers.
Candidates perform a talent of up to 90 seconds of their own choosing. Scoring is based on contestant's skill and personality, interpretive ability, technical skill level, stage presence and the totality of all elements, including costume, props, voice, use of body and choreography.
Each contestant wears a gown she has chosen for herself. Attention is focused on each contestant’s overall appearance, self-confidence, sense of style and the beauty she brings to the gown of her choice.

All contestants are encouraged to attend all four sessions but only required to attend 3 in order to meet requirements of the pageant.
Welcome to R.E.A.-D. Academy, an immersive 4-day program tailored exclusively for contestants gearing up for the Miss R.E.A.-D. Beauty Pageant. Kicking off on March 4th and unfolding every Monday and Wednesday over three weeks leading up to the pageant, this program serves as your gateway to success on the "Big Day."
During the academy sessions, participants will actively collaborate with our Director and VolunQueens to refine their public speaking, talent, and character development. Additionally, they'll have the valuable opportunity to forge connections with influential women in the Hampton Roads Area through group bonding exercises and engaging activities.
R.E.A.-D. Academy strives to embody the pageant motto, "A QUEEN STAYS READY, SO SHE NEVER HAS TO GET READY!" underscoring our acronym, emphasizing that every woman should be responsible, educated, possess a positive attitude, and be determined to succeed across life's various stages. The weekly schedule is packed with progressive activities and learning experiences, aimed not only at preparing contestants for the crown but also fostering personal growth in social, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being.
Contestants will enjoy mentorship opportunities provided by our VolunQueens, engage in community service, virtual chat sessions, and form lasting connections. The primary objective of R.E.A.-D. Academy is to empower each contestant to assess their strengths and weaknesses, establish personal and vocational goals, and nurture the self-confidence and self-esteem required to pursue and achieve these aspirations.
